Qatari labour minister arrives in Dhaka on 2-day visit
Qatar’s Minister of Labour Dr Ali bin Samikh Al Marri arrived in Dhaka on Sunday evening on a two-day official visit.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the matter.
According to the ministry, Prime Minister’s foreign affairs adviser, Humayun Kabir, received the Qatari minister at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Ariful Haque Chowdhury was also present at the airport during the reception.
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Embassy in Doha described the visit as significant and expressed hope that it would be successful and fruitful, further strengthening the friendship and partnership between Bangladesh and Qatar in the coming days.
During the visit, Dr Al Marri is scheduled to meet the Prime Minister and other senior leaders and officials of Bangladesh.
A joint committee meeting will also be held, where issues related to labour, manpower, bilateral cooperation and the interests of the Bangladeshi community living in Qatar are expected to be discussed.
