Tasfia Ahmed Tisha (31), a teacher at Milestone School, was killed in a road accident involving a bus and a ride-sharing motorcycle in front of Farazy Hospital in the capital's Banasree area on Wednesday (September 16) night.

The victim was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Emergency Department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 9:30 PM. Tasfia, daughter of Md. Shafiuddin Ahmed, resided in the Meradia Nayapara area of Khilgaon, Dhaka.

According to the victim's brother, Enam Ahmed, Tasfia was commuting on a ride-sharing motorcycle operated by a Pathao driver when a Ramjan Paribahan bus approaching from the opposite direction collided with the motorcycle in front of Farazy Hospital, leaving her critically injured. Pedestrians and police personnel transported her to DMCH, where attending physicians declared her dead following an emergency evaluation.

Enam Ahmed added that the offending bus and its driver were subsequently taken into police custody.

Inspector Habibur Rahman, In-Charge of the DMCH Police Camp, confirmed the death based on medical reports. The body has been retained at the hospital morgue for autopsies and legal formalities, and the concerned police station has initiated an investigation into the incident.
