Initiatives aimed at improving the living standards of marginalized and deprived communities, raising social awareness, and providing financial assistance to a cancer patient were carried out in Pirojpur.
The program was organized on Friday afternoon (September 18) by the Bangladesh Dalit and Excluded Rights Movement (BDERM), Pirojpur district branch, through a discussion meeting held in the Muslimpara area of the town. During the meeting, financial aid was officially handed over to support the medical treatment of a cancer-stricken individual.
In addition to the aid distribution, speakers discussed various crucial social issues, including dengue prevention measures, maintaining cleanliness, preventing child marriage, family planning, and uplifting disadvantaged populations.
Presided over by Tarak Chandra Mali and conducted by Dipak Das, the meeting featured Pirojpur Municipality Surveyor and Advocate Supti Halder Chanchal as the special guest. Other speakers included organizational leaders Panna Lal Das, Shubho Das, Babul Das, Raju Das, Joy Das, Dolly Rani Das, and Madhabi Das.
Speakers emphasized that society must extend helping hands to elevate the living standards of underprivileged communities. They also underscored the necessity of collective efforts to build public awareness regarding cleanliness to combat dengue, the prevention of child marriage, and effective family planning.
The financial assistance activities were supported by President Ashok Dash Munna, Secretary Mohan Lal Das, Tarak Chandra Mali, Vice President Dipak Das, Shubho Das, Dilip Das, Panna Lal Das, Senior Advisor Supti Halder Chanchal, Babul Das, and Johnny Das. Organization leaders, members, and local prominent figures were present at the event.
