Regarding the cancellation of the historic March 7 National Day
The Advisory Council of the Interim Government of Bangladesh canceled 8 national days including the historic March 7 on October 16. In the history of Bangladesh, March 7 means Bangabandhu's seven March speech. The speech of March 7 is the slogan for the independence of the Bengali nation. Our desired freedom gained in exchange for the honor of three lakh martyrs and two and a half lakh mothers and sisters. A flag of gold with a red sun on a green background is Bangladesh. Bangladesh is a new country on the world map. Due to the cancellation of this day, a storm of discussion and criticism is flowing on Facebook and YouTube and has raised many questions in the mouths of the common people of the country. A historic speech delivered by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in a public meeting held on March 7, 1971 at the Race Course Maidan (present Suhrawardy Udyan) in Ramna, Dhaka. He started the speech at 2.45 pm and finished at 3.3 pm. The speech lasted for 18 minutes. In this speech he urged the Bengalis of the then East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) to prepare for the freedom struggle. A written commentary of this speech was soon distributed. It was modified somewhat by Tajuddin Ahmad. The main objective of the amendment was to emphasize the demand for the withdrawal of martial law and the transfer of power to elected representatives. The speech was translated into 13 languages. As the 13th, the speech was translated into the Kurmali language of the Mahato ethnic group, the 1st translation into the language of the ethnic group. Newsweek magazine refers to Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as the poet of politics. On 30 October 2017, UNESCO recognized this speech as a historical document. The day was declared as a national day in 2020 during the Sheikh Hasina government and is celebrated every year with state status, but after the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government on August 5 this year, the advisory council of the interim government canceled the day on October 16.
In 1970, the Awami League won an absolute majority in the National Assembly elections of Pakistan. But Pakistan's military regime started delaying the transfer of power to the group. In fact, their intention was to somehow keep power in the hands of West Pakistani politicians. In this situation, the President of Pakistan General Yahya Khan convened the National Assembly session on March 3. But unexpectedly on March 1, the session was adjourned indefinitely. The people of East Pakistan erupted in protest on this news. Under the leadership of Awami League Chief Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, a simultaneous strike was observed in Dhaka on March 2 and across the country on March 3. He announced the program of all-out non-cooperation movement in the whole of East Bengal in a huge public meeting held at Paltan Maidan on March 3. It was against this backdrop that a large number of people gathered at the race course ground rally on March 7, turning the entire ground into a sea of people. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman delivered his historic speech to this crowd and the entire nation as a whole.
Along the bloody path of 47, six points, 52 and 1971 - a flag emblazoned with a red sun in the midst of dark green. In seventy one, the green grass of the entire Bengal has been dyed with blood, this Bangladesh was obtained in exchange for the honor of three million martyrs and two and a half million mothers and sisters. Fidel Castro Quote: I have not seen the Himalayas, I have seen Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Bangabandhu spent 13 years in Pakistan's prison, if not for Bangabandhu, the nation of Bangladesh would not have been created in the world. It is possible to measure the depth of all the oceans of the world, Bangabandhu's love for the people of Bengal is impossible to measure. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the Bengali nation, is forever honored in the heart of the world. The Awami League won a majority in the National Assembly of Pakistan in the 1970–71 elections, and the Pakistani government began negotiations with the Awami League on constitutional questions. Power was divided between the central government and the provinces, as well as the formation of a national government led by the Awami League. The agitating student leaders demanded that Sheikh Mujibur Rahman immediately declare the independence of Bangladesh, but Mujibur Rahman refused to agree to this demand. Instead, he decided to announce his next step in a public meeting to be held on March 7. On March 3, student leader Shahjahan Siraj read the independence manifesto in front of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib in a public meeting at Paltan Maidan under the instructions of Swadhin Bangla Nucleus. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in a public meeting at Suhrawardy Udyan on March 7 encouraged the general public about the progress of the independence movement. Awami League president and later Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, in a speech on March 7, called on the people of East Pakistan to prepare for an impending war against Pakistani occupation. Call to be fully prepared for an all-out war. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's March 7 speech is considered to be the keystone of the War of Independence and his famous quote was: "This struggle is our struggle for freedom, this struggle is our struggle for liberation". No nation on the world map has achieved its desired independence in a single day. Bangladesh did not gain independence in one day. Although the final victory of Bangladesh's independence war was announced on December 16, 1971, independence came about through language movement on February 21, 1952. Every nation has a father. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of Bangladesh and the Bengali nation. Before the language movement, Bangabandhu first dreamed of independence in 1946. Then the language movement, different 6 points, election of 70, the country gained independence after the liberation war of 1971. But Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was actively involved in every movement.
Literary emperor Bankim Chandra Chatterjee said in a dignified way - Bengali has no history. This grief and pain was not only of Bankim Chandra, but of poet Rabindranath, of Netaji Subhas Bose, of millions of Bengalis. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman appeared to exorcise hundreds of years of Bengali kalima, glani and slander. He created history for Bengali Bengali speakers. That history is unique and heroic. Gifted independent and independent habitat. Flag with rising crimson sun on green background. Right to speak mother tongue. Introduction to the world meeting. Bengali, Bangladesh is derived from the same source. Integral and indivisible. His name is included in the list of the best world leaders. Pronounced with the names of George Washington, Leylin, Mahatma Gandhi, Ma O Setung, Hotimin, Nelson Mandola etc. Bangabandhu is our glory, our pride. There are currently thousands of crores of embezzlement charges against Sheikh Hasina, Sheikh Rehana, Jai, Putul. Sheikh Hasina fled to Delhi with Sheikh Rehana leaving the party leader workers in danger. Currently, there are many cases of genocide against Sheikh Hasina in the country. However, Bangabandhu said when he was in Pakistan's prison, if I am hanged in the prison, send my body to East Pakistan. There is a huge gap between Bangabandhu and Sheikh Hasina. Bangabandhu sacrificed his life for the people of Bengal. A violent, cruel woman, Sheikh Hasina was the polar opposite of Bangabandhu. Why will Bangabandhu be punished for Sheikh Hasina's crime? Hence the people's expectation to the interim government to maintain the historical March 7 as National Day.
In the notification issued by the interim government, the decision to cancel the National Day on March 7 was termed as 'wrong' and the Workers' Party of Bangladesh said it was a departure from the history of Bangladesh's liberation war. The party hopes that the government will withdraw from this wrong decision. This was said in a statement issued by the Politburo of the Workers' Party last Thursday. According to the statement sent by Kamrul Ahsan, a member of the Politburo of the Workers' Party, Bangabandhu's historic March 7 speech at the Race Course in '71 reflected the national aspirations of the people of East Pakistan for their liberation struggle. March 7 has become a part of history as a historic declaration of preparation for the liberation war. It is said that the international government does not have the power to change such an important day with the stroke of a pen. According to the Workers Party, March 7 set the historical context for the birth of the land called Bangladesh and the creation of a nation state. Those who try to change the evidence of history will be accused by history.
Independence flag bearer and JSD president ASM Abdur Rob urged not to diminish the significance and glory of historic March 7 under any pretext. He made this call in a statement sent to the media last Thursday. Rob said, Bangabandhu's historic March 7 speech aimed at establishing an independent nation-state was the 'seed mantra' of independence and the inspiration for the armed liberation war. March 7 is a great chapter in the realization of the desired independence dream of Bengalis by breaking the chains of 1100 years of subjugation. "This time's struggle is our liberation struggle, this time's struggle is freedom's struggle" - under the guidance of the final struggle, fearless Bengalis and people from all walks of life jumped into the struggle for liberation. He said, capturing the history of Bengali's thousand years of suffering, deprivation and exclusion from the center of power, the overall desire of the people of this land to achieve freedom was expressed in the historic speech of March 7. Which deeply moved, inflamed and awakened the entire population to its core. Sirajul Alam Khan, the main planner of the independent state, and others were involved in this speech. Referring to the historic March 7 as an unforgettable day in Bengali national life, Rob said, Bangabandhu was an uncompromising leader of the freedom struggle and Bengali nationalist movement. This former minister said, 'Independence Flag Hoisting' on 2nd March 71, 'Manifesto Reading' on 3rd March and the speech of 7th March and the best achievement of Bengalis through the armed liberation struggle 'Independence' - are built on the same formula. Thus post-independence the glorious role and outstanding heroism of the freedom struggle will be denied in terms of anti-popular governance or accountability for misdeeds—hiding the underlying truth of the armed liberation struggle. Limitations and failure to realize the importance, significance and historicity of March 7 would be suicidal, Rob thinks. He further said that the struggling people will not accept such short-term and ineffective decisions and unnecessary activities. Ignoring the fundamentals of state reform, the government will create new debates and create divisions among the forces participating in the anti-fascist movement. ASM Rob said, I hope, the new republic should be built by recognizing the great achievements of the brave heroes of the previous generation along with the current generation in realizing the desire of the student-mass uprising through the July massacre.
