Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has detained a drug peddler named Manzil Hossain (46) along with 470 pieces of Yaba tablets in Rajibpur, Kurigram. He was detained around 12:00 PM on Saturday from the Baliamari area of the upazila.

Detained Manzil Hossain is the son of the late Omar Ali of the Algarchar area under Jadurchar Union in Rowmari Upazila. He is the former vice-president of Jadurchar Union Ward No. 7 BNP.

Md. Imam Hossain, Assistant Director (Acting Adjutant) of BGB 35 Jamalpur Battalion, confirmed the matter on Saturday afternoon.

Md. Imam Hossain stated that around 12:00 PM on Saturday (September 5), a patrolling BGB team from the Baliamari camp detained drug dealer Manzil Hossain with 470 pieces of Yaba from the Baliamari area inside Bangladesh, approximately 800 yards from international boundary pillar 1072-MP. A mobile phone, two SIM cards, and 335 BDT in cash were also seized from him.

He added that the process of handing over the detainee, along with the seized narcotics and contraband items, to Rajibpur Police Station is currently underway.
