273 Bottles of Indian Liquor Seized Along Sherpur Border

The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized 273 bottles of Indian liquor during an anti-narcotics drive in the Sandhyakura Segunbagan area of Jhenaigati upazila, Sherpur.

Acting on a tip-off, members of the Mymensingh BGB-39 Battalion's Haldigram camp conducted the operation late Sunday night (September 13). However, no one was arrested as the smugglers managed to flee upon sensing the presence of BGB personnel. BGB Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Nurul Azim Bayezid confirmed the matter through a press release, stating that the estimated market value of the seized Indian liquor and various brands of beverages exceeds four lakh Taka.

Previously, early Sunday morning, members of the Ramchandrakura BGB camp had seized a large quantity of smuggled Indian medicines along the Paniihata border in Nalitabari upazila.
