The deadline given by Chittagong Custom House for importers and commercial stakeholders to clear long-pending auctioned and auctionable cargo shipments from the yards, sheds, and storage facilities of Chattogram Port expires today.
According to a public notice issued by the Auction Division of Chittagong Custom House on Wednesday (October 7, 2026), failure to present valid legal documentation or retrieve consignments by the end of the day will trigger strict legal actions under existing customs laws and regulations. Assistant Commissioner of Customs Nazmul Hossain confirmed that the grace period ends today, after which uncollected goods will face immediate re-auctioning, destruction, or statutory disposal. Customs authorities stated that the enforcement drive is designed to optimize port storage capacity, alleviate severe container congestion, expedite revenue collection, and ensure smooth operational efficiency across the country's primary maritime gateway.
