A town hall meeting was held in Rajshahi with the objective of effective promotion and successful implementation of the BDT 10,000 crore and BDT 3,000 crore refinancing schemes announced by Bangladesh Bank to ensure the country's food security, create employment, and boost the agro-based socio-economic development of the northern region. On Tuesday (September 22) at 10:00 AM, the meeting was organized by Rupali Bank PLC under the supervision of Bangladesh Bank at the PTI Auditorium in Rajshahi, with Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank serving jointly as the lead bank.

Muhammad Badiuzzaman Didar, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, Rajshahi, attended the meeting as the chief guest, while Kazi Abdur Rahman, Managing Director of Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank, was present as the honored guest. Special guests included Directors of Bangladesh Bank Rajshahi Office A.K.M. Golam Mahmud, Md. Nazim Uddin, and Dr. Md. Ismail Hossain, along with Rajshahi Deputy Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam.

Divided into two sessions, the first part of the meeting featured detailed discussions by the chief guest and invited speakers on the various aspects of the two refinancing schemes and their role in developing northern agriculture. The second session featured a panel discussion and a Q&A segment where a panel of senior bankers answered questions from agriculture and SME entrepreneurs and related stakeholders, highlighting the procedures and prospects of availing the refinancing facilities.
