With the expiry of the temporary relaxation granted for the Durga Puja festival, shopping malls, markets, and shops returned to their previous schedule starting Friday (October 23). From now on, these establishments can remain open from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Earlier, on October 5, a directive from the Power Division permitted shopping malls, markets, and shops to stay open until 10:00 PM until October 22 due to Sharadiya Durga Puja. The directive stated that the pre-determined schedule would resume from October 23, allowing business hours from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM. As part of electricity saving and management measures, a directive was issued on August 12 instructing all shopping malls and shops to close by 8:00 PM, alongside a ban on illuminating shops and malls with festive lights after 7:00 PM.
