In a tragic incident stemming from severe drug addiction and domestic abuse, a 28-year-old man named Tarek was allegedly tied up and killed with sharp weapons by his father, Oliur Rahman, and family members in Raipura Upazila, Narsingdi.

The incident took place early Thursday morning (October 15, 2026) at Baherchar Madhyapara village in Chanderkandi Union. According to local sources, Tarek was previously an expatriate worker in Malaysia but was deported back to Bangladesh due to drug abuse. Upon returning home, he relapsed into severe addiction and routinely subjected his parents to physical violence for narcotics money.

On Wednesday night, Tarek vandalized the household demanding money for drugs. Driven to desperation, his father Oliur Rahman tied his hands and feet and moved him to a cowshed behind the house, where Tarek was struck with sharp weapons on his head and neck. He succumbed to excessive bleeding on the spot. Following the fatality, Oliur Rahman fled the scene. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Raipura Police Station Mojibur Rahman confirmed that police recovered the body, prepared an inquest report noting sharp trauma behind the victim's head and right ear, and initiated formal legal proceedings.
