Sharadiya Durga Puja and the immersion of idols have concluded peacefully under strict security across 69 puja mandaps, including border areas of Joypurhat and Dinajpur. No untoward incidents were reported at these mandaps between October 16 and October 21.

On the occasion of Sharadiya Durga Puja, the Joypurhat Battalion (20 BGB) deployed eight platoons of personnel. The security cover included 54 mandaps in the border areas of Joypurhat and Dinajpur, along with 15 mandaps located within a three-kilometer radius of the battalion headquarters.

BGB personnel conducted security operations through regular patrols, intelligence surveillance, and close coordination with local administration and other law enforcement agencies. As a result, devotees of the Hindu community were able to celebrate the festival and complete the idol immersion smoothly and without interruption.

The Commanding Officer of Joypurhat Battalion (20 BGB) stated that along with safeguarding the border, BGB is always dedicated to ensuring public safety and maintaining religious harmony. He noted that through maximum vigilance, professionalism, and cooperation from all stakeholders, Durga Puja was successfully completed.

He further added that BGB's efforts to maintain border security, public safety, and communal harmony will continue unabated. According to a press release from BGB, all patrol activities of the battalion will remain active until 10:00 PM on Thursday (October 22).
