Over 150 freedom fighters formed a human chain in Shibganj, Chapainawabganj, on Tuesday (October 20, 2026) demanding the withdrawal of a "false" case filed against the two sons of a freedom fighter. Organized under the banner of the Upazila Muktijoddha Sangsad, the hour-long protest took place around 11:30 AM in front of the Shibganj Dak Bungalow.

During the human chain, speakers stated that on September 29, the RAB (SRB) conducted a raid on a shed used for storing firewood and straw in front of freedom fighter Mofiz Uddin's house, recovering 6.751 kg of heroin.

While Mofiz Uddin's younger son was detained from the home during the raid, his middle son, Al Mamun, was falsely implicated in the case despite being away at his father-in-law's house in Rajshahi at the time. Expressing deep disappointment that children of freedom fighters are facing such harassment in an independent country, they demanded an immediate withdrawal of the case.

The protest featured speeches from former Shibganj Upazila Muktijoddha Sangsad Commander Freedom Fighter Bazlar Rashid Sonu and Arif Ali Tisu, among others. Meanwhile, SRB-5 Captain Lieutenant Colonel Faisal Ishtiaq stated in a text message that there were no irregularities in the anti-narcotics operation, which was carried out in full compliance with the law against suspects.
