Two construction workers were killed and four others were injured when the roof of an under-construction municipal building collapsed in the Pirganj upazila headquarters of Rangpur.
The tragic incident occurred on Tuesday (October 13) before evening. One of the deceased workers has been identified as Asadul Haq, a resident of Sadullapur in Gaibandha, while the other is Shihab, a resident of Rangpur district town, though their complete identities could not be immediately verified.
Upon receiving news of the accident, the Pirganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer, Pirganj police, and fire service personnel promptly arrived at the scene and launched rescue operations. The exact cause of the roof collapse could not be determined immediately, casting a shadow of profound grief over the entire area.
