Police in Narail Sadar Upazila have seized 50 bottles of the intoxicating syrup 'Escuf' along with a private car during a drive. A young man named Md. Imran Hossain (29) was arrested in connection with the incident.

The arrest took place around 6:30 AM on Sunday (October 11) at the Malibag intersection on the Kalna-Narail-Jessore highway. Inspector (Investigation) Ajay Kumar Kundu of Narail Sadar Police Station confirmed the development.

The arrested individual, Md. Imran Hossain, is the son of Shafiullah from Badedihi village under Kaliganj Upazila in Jhenaidah district.

Police reported that a team from Sadar Police Station set up a vehicle checkpost at the Malibag intersection on the Kalna-Narail-Jessore highway on Sunday morning. Officers intercepted a private car traveling from Narail toward Lohagara for inspection. Upon searching the vehicle's trunk, police recovered 50 bottles of Escuf concealed inside a plastic bag and detained Md. Imran Hossain on the spot. Primary information was gathered from the suspect during initial interrogation.

Inspector (Investigation) Ajay Kumar Kundu of Narail Sadar Police Station stated, "During a police checkpost search in the Malibag area, 50 bottles of Escuf were seized from a private vehicle, and an individual named Imran was detained. A regular case will be registered in this regard."
