Yemen's Houthi movement has launched a retaliatory ballistic missile strike targeting state-owned oil giant Saudi Aramco’s headquarters complex in Dhahran, hours after Saudi warplanes carried out airstrikes on the Houthi-controlled Yemen Oil Company building in Sana'a.
According to Saudi energy officials and Reuters sources, Tuesday night's missile strike hit an office tower in the Dhahran complex, damaging the upper three floors and igniting a fire. Emergency crews quickly contained the blaze, and no casualties were reported at the Aramco facility. The Dhahran complex serves as a crucial operational hub managing Saudi Arabia's extensive network of oil rigs, pipelines, refineries, and export terminals.
The escalation follows renewed conflict in Yemen, with Houthi forces increasing cross-border drone and missile attacks over the past week in response to Saudi backing of government forces. Meanwhile, Saudi Civil Defense reported that falling debris from intercepted missiles in Riyadh injured four civilians—two women, a man, and a child—and slightly damaged 15 homes. Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree had earlier vowed severe retaliation following the airstrikes in Sana'a.
