Police in Thrissur, Kerala, have arrested a woman and five accomplices after she allegedly hired a gang to kidnap her husband and gang-rape his female companion following a personal dispute last month.
According to a report by NDTV published on Thursday (October 1, 2026), the victim had traveled with her married male friend and stayed at a local hotel in Thrissur. Utilizing GPS location tracking from her husband’s mobile device, the wife pinpointed their location and contracted a five-member gang. Impersonating police officers, the gang members forced their way into the hotel room, bound both individuals, and abducted them in a vehicle. During transit to neighboring Tamil Nadu, the husband was severely beaten—sustaining fractures to his arms and legs—before being abandoned outside a hospital. The gang then transferred the female victim to another vehicle, where she was subjected to sexual assault. Indian law enforcement officials confirmed that all five hired assailants and the wife have been taken into custody, with further legal proceedings and investigative steps underway.
