American news outlets including CNN have revealed the identity of the Flydubai co-pilot accused of physically assaulting an Indian captain mid-flight during a commercial route from Dubai to Tel Aviv, identifying him as 29-Year-Old Omani national Hamam Al-Hamani.

According to investigative reports and archived social media records, Al-Hamani was raised in the United Arab Emirates and previously served with Oman Air for seven years until February 2025. He subsequently worked for Royal Air Maroc until June 2026 before joining Flydubai. A graduate in Air Transport Management from Buckinghamshire New University in the United Kingdom via distance learning, Al-Hamani's social media footprints—which were deleted shortly after the incident—showed disturbing digital activity. CNN reported uncovering cockpit footage recorded from his personal account showing Israeli aircraft, ending with imagery of slain Al-Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri and Jordanian CIA base bomber Humam Khalil Abu-Mulal al-Balawi, alongside AI-generated graphics of Mecca, Medina, and Jerusalem accompanied by radical Islamic verse. Aviation security agencies and international law enforcement continue to investigate the assault and the co-pilot's ideological background.
