West Bengal Minister Dilip Ghosh Alleges Bangladesh and Foreign Hand Behind Delhi Protests

West Bengal Minister for Panchayat and Rural Development Dilip Ghosh has alleged that foreign powers—including backing linked to Bangladesh—are actively financing and orchestrating ongoing political protests in New Delhi and other Indian cities against Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) electoral roll process.

Speaking on Monday evening (October 12, 2026) during a Durga Puja inauguration in Habra, North 24 Parganas, Ghosh asserted that the true motives behind the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) and opposition-led demonstrations become evident upon reviewing social media posts from Bangladeshi ministers. He alleged that foreign funds are pouring into India to disrupt the Union Government's proposed 'Foreign Contribution Regulation Act' (FCRA) bill, which aims to enforce transparency and strict regulation on international donations.

Ghosh further criticized political parties like the Trinamool Congress for backing the CJP-led agitation, dismissing the opposition's activities as political posturing ahead of the festive and winter seasons. The remarks come as New Delhi remains under heightened security following multi-day protests demanding the CEC's resignation over electoral roll revision disputes.
