The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka, which confirmed the death of Bangladeshi expatriate Md. Sojib Hossain in Saudi Arabia on Monday and issued a strong condemnation of the attack.

A Bangladeshi expatriate worker has been killed following a Houthi drone and missile attack targeting a Saudi Aramco oil facility in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed in Dhaka on Monday (October 5, 2026).

The deceased was identified as Md. Sojib Hossain, a native of Cumilla District. According to an official press release issued by the ministry, Sojib Hossain was fatally struck on Sunday (October 4, 2026) when Houthi forces launched projectile and drone strikes against an Aramco installation situated in the Al-Khurais region of Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province. Expressing deep grief and sorrow over the loss of life, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a strong condemnation of the military strike, extending heartfelt condolences to the victim's bereaved family and relatives. The Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh has already established contact with the deceased's family members and employer to extend all necessary administrative and humanitarian assistance. Embassy officials are coordinating with Saudi local authorities to complete legal formalities and arrange the repatriation of the deceased's body to Bangladesh at the earliest opportunity.
