Weather conditions across Bangladesh are projected to remain generally stable and favorable over the next ten days, spanning from October 17 to October 26, 2026. According to a comprehensive forecast released on Saturday (October 17) by the Bangladesh Weather Observation Team (BWOT), no major natural disasters or severe storm systems are expected during this period.
The forecasting agency noted that scattered cloud fragments may drift across the sky through October 20, particularly over southern districts. However, skies will clear significantly starting October 21, granting most parts of the country an average of 6 to 8 hours of bright, direct sunshine daily. While no formal heatwaves are predicted, humid and muggy conditions will prevail during daytime hours across Dhaka, Sylhet, Khulna, Mymensingh, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions.
In contrast, northern and western regions—including Rangpur, Rajshahi, and Khulna divisions—will experience a mild late-night and early-morning chill, accompanied by moderate river basin fog from midnight to dawn. Rainfall will remain extremely sparse (1% to 5% area coverage) through October 18, though hilly areas in Cox's Bazar and Bandarban may see sudden isolated showers with thunderstorm activity. The Bay of Bengal is expected to remain calm until at least October 24, allowing safe travel for tourists and normal outdoor activities. Meanwhile, farmers are advised to maintain regular field irrigation to combat ongoing dry spells before a potential new weather system develops in late October.
