DMP Arrests 523 Suspects in 24-Hour Capital-Wide Crackdown; 40 Cases Filed

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have arrested 523 individuals and registered 40 cases following a comprehensive 24-hour law enforcement operation across the capital.

Confirming the drive on Saturday (October 10, 2026), DMP Media and Public Relations Division Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md. Akter Hossain detailed division-wise breakdowns: Mirpur Division arrested 90 suspects, Motijheel Division 82, Tejগাঁও Division 79, Wari Division 75, Lalbagh Division 59, Gulshan Division 47, Uttara Division 43, Ramna Division 36, Detective Branch (DB) 11, and Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) 1 suspect.

During the capital-wide raids, officers confiscated 75.25 kilograms of cannabis, 1,442 Yaba tablets, 7 grams of heroin, two cans of beer, one covered van, two motorcycles, nine mobile phones, and BDT 2,400 in cash, while safely rescuing one victim. Legal proceedings against all 523 detainees are currently underway at respective police stations.
