Ansar personnel detained a young man named Md. Rakib from the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Sunday afternoon (October 18, 2026) on charges of posing as a fake doctor.

According to DMCH Ansar Platoon Commander (PC) Md. Shahadat Hossain, Rakib’s suspicious movements inside the emergency ward caught the attention of security personnel around 2:00 PM. Upon being detained and questioned in the administrative block, he confessed to falsely identifying himself as a physician.

During questioning, Rakib claimed he resorted to impersonating a doctor from Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College after failing repeatedly to secure hospital admission for his ailing brother. Following hospital directives, Ansar members handed him over to the DMCH police camp. DMCH Police Camp In-Charge (Inspector) Md. Habibur Rahman stated that Shahbagh Police Station has been fully briefed and legal transfer procedures are underway.
