President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has called upon healthcare institutions and charitable trusts to expand free and subsidized medical services for poor and underprivileged citizens across the country.
The President made the appeal during a courtesy meeting with a delegation from the Dhaka Community Hospital (DCH) Trust, led by its Coordinator Professor Dr. Mahmudur Rahman, at Bangabhaban on Wednesday afternoon (October 7, 2026). Commending the hospital’s long-standing humanitarian service, President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed personal gratitude to DCH Trust, sharing that he had referred numerous low-income patients to the hospital over the years and witnessed their dedicated care firsthand. Responding to requests for institutional backing, the President assured the delegation of full executive support for their medical expansion plans. During the meeting, the DCH Trust delegation formally invited the President to serve as Chief Guest at the upcoming international conference titled "Disaster Preparedness and Resilient Bangladesh: Leading the Future," scheduled for November 30 at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka, an invitation the President accepted. The delegation included DCH Trust Project & Research Director Md. Golam Mostafa, Director Prof. Dr. Omar Sharif Ibn Hassan, and Public Relations Director Waqar Hossain Tapan, alongside senior Bangabhaban officials.
