A bomb disposal squad from the Specialised Rapid Battalion (SRB) has been dispatched to the Dhaka Uddan area of Mohammadpur in the capital after suspected crude bomb-like objects were spotted in the residential neighborhood.
Confirming the development on Monday (October 12, 2026), SRB-2 Deputy Director (Media) Major M Mubin Rahman Tapas stated that law enforcement received reports of abandoned cocktail-like objects and immediately mobilized a specialized explosive ordnance disposal team to the scene. "At this preliminary stage, it cannot be definitively confirmed whether the objects are live crude bombs," Major Tapas noted. "The bomb disposal unit will examine and test the objects on-site to determine their exact nature and safely defuse them." No casualties, explosions, or property damage have been reported in connection with the incident.
Law enforcement personnel have cordoned off the surrounding perimeter in Dhaka Uddan as preliminary bomb disposal procedures and forensic examinations get underway.
