The United States Embassy in Dhaka has issued a strict advisory warning Bangladeshi travelers that overstaying their authorized duration of stay in the US could lead to permanent travel bans and criminal prosecution.
In an official public notice shared on its verified social media platforms on Saturday (October 17, 2026), the US diplomatic mission emphasized that consular officers possess complete access to all historical immigration data and entry-exit records. Consequently, any past violations of US immigration laws or rules will be immediately flagged during visa evaluations.
The Embassy explicitly clarified that claims of "unintentional errors" or accidental overstays will not be entertained or accepted as valid excuses under federal immigration enforcement guidelines. Bangladeshi visa holders and travelers were urged to strictly adhere to the stay limits stamped on their I-94 arrival/departure records or admission stamps to avoid lifetime inadmissibility to the United States.
