The 'World Post Day-2026' is being observed in the country today under the theme 'Integrated Postal Network, Limitless Possibilities,' featuring a series of week-long programs and a 'Postal Service Week' running from today until October 15. A discussion meeting was organized this morning at the Postal Building in Agargaon, Dhaka, by the Department of Posts, with Posts and Telecommunications Division Secretary Bilkis Jahan Rimi attending as chief guest and Director General Kazi Asadul Islam presiding over the event.
To mark the occasion, regular postal services—excluding savings bank operations—are being provided today and tomorrow at postal offices nationwide.
Alongside these services, special initiatives have been launched, including a letter festival at Cox's Bazar Sea Beach, philatelic exhibitions, and postal service fairs at various universities across the country. The Department of Posts emphasized that these programs aim to deliver fast, affordable services to people's doorsteps by utilizing modern technology and an extensive network as Bangladesh Post transitions into a modern, technology-driven logistics service institution.
