Tollywood actors Dev and Subhashree Ganguly are set to reunite on the big screen after 11 years with their upcoming film ‘Deshu 7’. As the shooting wrapped on Wednesday (August 19), Subhashree penned an open letter on social media praising Dev for his work as a director and expressing her admiration for his new role behind the camera.
‘Deshu 7’ marks Dev’s directorial debut. The project gave Subhashree an opportunity to observe him not only as a co-star but also as a filmmaker. In her letter, she said their journeys as actors began around the same time, but the film allowed her to discover a different side of Dev.
Subhashree said she initially felt a sense of jealousy after seeing how clearly Dev had planned the film and how confidently he approached the various aspects of filmmaking. She expressed her happiness at being part of the journey of ‘Deshu 7’ and said she believes Bengali cinema will gain a new-generation filmmaker through the project. According to her, Dev has the ability to tell stories in his own way while also entertaining mainstream audiences.
