Electricity consumers in Betagi Upazila under Barguna district are facing immense suffering due to frequent load-shedding. In particular, power disruptions spiking after dusk have placed students and marginalized communities in severe distress. Local residents reported that the erratic power supply is heavily disrupting students' academic routines.

Local consumers alleged that, along with recurring outages during the day, load-shedding becomes rampant in the evening hours. Consequently, students sit down to study only to face repeated power cuts, derailing their regular coursework.

Acknowledging the power deficit, Betagi Sub-Zonal Office AGM Muntasir Bin Hasib stated that electricity is not being supplied from the central office in line with local demand. He explained that authorities are trying to keep all lines operational on a staggered rotation with whatever allocation is received, adding that he expects power quotas to increase from next month.

Meanwhile, the relentless outages during evening hours continue to severely hinder students' study time. Local guardians emphasized that ensuring an uninterrupted power supply during these critical study hours is imperative.

Consumers urged relevant authorities to promptly bridge the power shortfall and take effective measures to curtail load-shedding across Betagi.
