Kalapara Thana Police have arrested a man named Mahabub Pada (48) with 50 pieces of Yaba tablets in Kalapara, Patuakhali. He was apprehended around 4:30 PM on Monday (September 7) from an unpaved road in Chhonauta village under Tiakhali Union of the upazila. The arrestee, Mahabub, is the son of Md. Abdur Rob Pada of Pujakhola village in Amtali Upazila. A case has been registered against him at Kalapara Police Station under Section 36(1) Table 10(Ka)/41 of the Narcotics Control Act, 2018.

According to police sources, the plaintiff in the case, SI (Armed) Sujan Chakraborty (BP-8714167312), backed by an accompanying police team, recovered the 50 pieces of illicit Yaba tablets from the possession of Md. Mahabub Pada before arresting him.

Kalapara Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nazrul Islam stated that regular drives against illicit narcotics will continue.
