Police have recovered the bullet-riddled body of a man named Baharul Mallick from an orchard in Ranagati village along the banks of the Bhairab River, bordering Phultala and Abhaynagar. The body was retrieved on Monday (September 7) morning from inside a garden in Ranagati village under Abhaynagar Upazila. According to local sources, deceased Baharul Mallick was the son of Hakim Mallick of that village.

Informed by local residents, police reached the spot and recovered the body. Initial observations confirmed gunshot wounds on the victim's body.

However, the motive behind the killing and the identity of the perpetrators could not be immediately determined, sparking tension and curiosity across the area.

Police have initiated an investigation into the incident. Measures are underway to prepare the inquest report and send the body for an autopsy.
