KMP Commissioner Confers Awards to Boost Traffic Professionalism

A special felicitation and motorcycle handover ceremony was held at 12:00 PM today, September 7, 2026, at the Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Headquarters to enhance professionalism, dynamism, and operational efficiency within the traffic division. Honorable KMP Police Commissioner Md. Sajjadur Rahman graced the event as the chief guest.

Addressing the gathering, the Police Commissioner called for vigilance, courage, and resolute decision-making in the discharge of duties. He emphasized rewarding personnel for commendable performance and prioritizing feedback and suggestions from field-level officers. Stating that zero tolerance would be shown toward narcotics, he cautioned all members to stay vigilant on the issue. He also stressed the importance of training, skill enhancement, improved communication channels, and strengthening core basic policing. Urging officers to deal with the public with patience, courtesy, and decency, he advised them against taking impulsive steps out of anger and highlighted the need to manage situations calmly without unnecessary confrontation, ultimately urging everyone to work with dedication to ensure people-friendly policing.

Subsequently, in recognition of commendable performance over the past month, one Police Inspector (Town & Vehicles), five Sergeants/TSIs, five ATSIs, and 20 Constables were awarded financial incentives. In addition, four motorcycles were handed over to traffic division personnel to render field operations more dynamic, effective, and community-oriented.

The ceremony was attended by Muhammad Shahnawaz Khaled, PPM-Seba, Additional Police Commissioner (Traffic & Protocol, holding additional charge of Admin & Finance); Deputy Police Commissioner (Traffic) Shafiqul Islam; along with police personnel of various ranks.
