Local residents and community figures have strongly demanded the renovation of the agriculture office adjacent to Gourdia Bazar in Saltha Upazila, Faridpur. An on-site visit revealed that the building remains completely abandoned. For nearly 10 to 15 years, no official activities have taken place here, leaving the premises overgrown and resembling a dense thicket. Local BNP leaders Firoz Khan and Mahfuz Khan alleged that agricultural officers used to visit this facility in the past to conduct various training sessions for local farmers. Local farmers also stated that while the office was operational, they received regular technical advice and timely agricultural recommendations to manage their lands effectively.

Highlighting that the structure has been lying defunct for over a decade, residents urged the Saltha Upazila Agriculture Officer to take prompt initiatives to renovate and restore the center. They also drew the attention of the local Member of Parliament for Faridpur-2 and the State Minister for Foreign Affairs, appealing for intervention to reopen the facility. Addressing the issue, the Saltha Upazila Agriculture Officer stated that the building will be renovated to bring agricultural extension services back to the doorsteps of common people, confirming that talks have already been held with higher authorities and work will begin once necessary funds are allocated.
