Chief Coordinator of the National Citizen Party (NCP), Nasiruddin Patwari, has called upon the public to stay vigilant and united in preserving Islamic values while safeguarding the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh.

He made the remarks on Thursday (September 10) while addressing attendees and interacting with devotees at the 56th 19-day International Seeratunnabi (SAW) Mahfil in Chunati under Lohagara, Chittagong.

Over its 56-year history, the event has grown beyond its local origins into one of the country's largest Seerat gatherings, drawing Islamic scholars and hundreds of thousands of devotees from across the nation.

"We must draw lessons on justice, fairness, humanity, and the protection of human rights from the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW)," Patwari said. "By embracing those ideals, we can build a humane and discrimination-free Bangladesh."

He emphasized that no compromise should be made regarding national interests, public rights, or justice. "Alongside defending Islamic values and dignity, the people of Bangladesh must remain ever-vigilant and united on the question of the country's independence and sovereignty," the NCP leader added.

Patwari expressed confidence that Islamic scholars, the youth, and citizens from all walks of life will join hands to construct an independent, dignified, and equitable nation, adding that gatherings like the Chunati Seerat Mahfil continue to strengthen patriotism, justice, and the spirit of humanity across generations.
