Md. Abdullah Sifat, a student of Adamjee Cantonment College who was previously arrested over a viral social media video concerning electricity bills, is now facing formal expulsion proceedings by the college authority.

Sifat, a fourth-year BBA (Management) student of the 2021-2022 academic session, was issued a show-cause notice asking why he should not be expelled or issued a transfer certificate (TC) for making "indecent" and "derogatory" remarks targeting top government figures, including the Prime Minister, on social media. The notice, signed by Professor Dr. Nilufa Ahsan on behalf of the college principal, instructed the student to provide a formal justification within three working days. Copies of the disciplinary notice have also been forwarded to Army Headquarters, the GS Branch (Education Directorate), Headquarters Logistics Area (Education Branch), and the Chairman of the College Governing Body for information.

Earlier, Sifat had uploaded a video on Facebook complaining about unusually high electricity bills at his residence and used offensive language toward state authorities, prompting law enforcement to arrest him from Gazipur.
