Shakil Hossain, a visually impaired graduate from a remote village in Naogaon who completed his higher education at Rajshahi University (RU), has secured a university officer position following a direct directive from Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

Born into an impoverished family, Shakil successfully navigated his academic career through perseverance and merit. However, his post-graduation job search stalled due to systemic barriers surrounding employment for individuals with visual disabilities.

Upon learning of Shakil's situation, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman instructed his Adviser on Political and Industrial Affairs, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, to facilitate an employment solution in coordination with Rajshahi University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Faridul Islam.

On Tuesday (September 15), Shakil formally received his appointment letter as an officer at Rajshahi University during a ceremony held at the BNP Chairman's office in Gulshan, Dhaka. The appointment was presented jointly by Adviser Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Faridul Islam.

The event was attended by Dhaka University Professor Dr. Morshed Hasan Khan, Naogaon-5 Member of Parliament Md. Jahidul Islam Dholu, and Jahedul Alam, Assistant Private Secretary to Adviser Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.
