Law enforcement agencies have arrested Atiq, an active member of an organized crime racket known as the "Bhoira De" group, in connection with a shooting targeting a journalist's residence in Pallabi, Dhaka.

Specialized operational units recovered a foreign-made pistol and nine rounds of live ammunition from his possession during the raid.

In a separate operation, the Special Response Battalion (SRB) apprehended Sohel Rana, 38, a death-row inmate who had escaped from the Kashimpur High Security Central Jail during a high-profile prison break.
