Passengers aboard an Iranian domestic flight experienced severe panic on Tuesday (September 15) when a tire burst immediately after takeoff, sending debris into an engine and causing violent cabin vibrations that detached overhead ceiling panels.

The incident occurred aboard a Boeing 737 operated by Sepehran Airlines, which had departed from Mashhad Shahid Hasheminejad International Airport in northeastern Iran bound for the western city of Kermanshah.

According to local aviation reports cited by international media outlets, one of the aircraft's tires exploded shortly after liftoff. Debris from the tire was ingested into one of the engines, causing it to fail in flight. The sudden power imbalance and mechanical disruption produced intense airframe vibrations, causing interior ceiling linings and panels to dislodge and collapse into the passenger aisle.

Footage recorded by a passenger onboard and widely circulated on social media captured passengers ducking as cabin interior pieces hung loose amid severe shaking.

Following the engine failure, the flight crew declared an emergency and executed a successful return landing at Mashhad Airport. Aviation authorities confirmed that all passengers and crew members disembarked safely without injuries.
