Justice Mansurul Haque Chowdhury has been appointed as the Convener of the Central Legal Assistance Committee, while Supreme Court Advocate Nurnabi Bulbul has been named its Member Secretary. Through an official press release, it was announced that a 751-member Legal Assistance Council—comprising esteemed legal professionals—has been formed.

The inclusion of Advocate Md. Humayun Kabir Hiru, a prominent figure from Lalmonirhat district, in this committee has brought great joy to the people of the district across all walks of life. He has a long and reputable history in student politics. Despite his long-standing association with the influential Awami League, there has never been any allegation of wrongdoing against him. He is well-known and highly respected in Lalmonirhat district, having consistently stood tall against injustice.

He has always championed the cause of the helpless, the innocent, and the oppressed. Even while being part of a powerful political party, there has never been any accusation of him abusing his position. Since his days in student politics, he has frequently been the target of lawsuits, physical attacks, and persecution. Throughout his time in student politics, he held various leadership roles, including: Deputy Secretary for Programs and Planning of the Rangpur Carmichael College unit of the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL); President of the National Law College unit; Organizing Secretary of the Combined Law District BCL; Vice-President of the Lalmonirhat District BCL; Assistant Secretary of the Central BCL; and President of the Lalmonirhat District branch of the Sheikh Russel National Children and Juvenile Council.
