Bangladesh were bowled out for 346 runs in their first innings on the second day of the ongoing one-off Test match against Afghanistan at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Resuming the day at 317/8 after losing momentum late on Day 1, Bangladesh managed to add only 29 runs to their overnight total before losing their remaining two wickets. Tail-ender Nayeem Hasan played a resilient, unbeaten knock of 35 off 67 balls, contributing 35 of the 41 runs added for the final two wickets. However, no other batter could offer substantial support. Earlier on Day 1, Bangladesh had made a dominant start with a 124-run opening partnership between Tanjid Hasan Tamim (83 off 71 balls) and Shadman Islam (67). A sudden collapse of 3 wickets for just 4 runs derailed the innings, leaving the middle order struggling to build on the foundation despite contributions from Litton Das (53) and Mominul Haque (39). For Afghanistan, fast bowler Mohammad Saleem Safi was the pick of the attack with 4 wickets for 82, while Yamin Ahmadzai took 3 for 79 and Ismat Alam claimed 2 for 20.
