Bangladesh Champions registered their first victory in the World Championship of Legends (WCL), pulling off a sensational 3-run win over tournament favorites India Champions in a high-voltage clash at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
Batting first, Bangladesh Champions set a total of 141/9 in their 20 overs. Opener Rony Talukdar led the early charge with a quickfire 40 off 25 balls (featuring four boundaries and two sixes), before middle-order contributions from Nasir Hossain (24) and Arafat Sunny (37) stabilized the innings against India's Piyush Chawla, who took 3/24. Defending a modest total, Bangladesh paceman Abu Jayed Rahi delivered early breakthroughs, while Kamrul Islam Rabbi claimed the key wicket of Yuvraj Singh in the powerplay.
Left-arm spinner Enamul Haque Jr. then completely dismantled India’s middle order with a match-winning spell of 4 wickets for just 12 runs in 3 overs, reducing India to 88/8. Despite a late 50-run unbroken partnership between Pawan Negi (26*) and Piyush Chawla (24*), Rahi held his nerve in the final overs without conceding a boundary, restricting India to 138/8 and sealing a memorable triumph.
