The Bangladesh men's national cricket team was eliminated from the Asian Games cricket tournament after suffering a 6-wicket defeat against Pakistan in the first semi-final at Korogi Sports Park in Nishine, Japan.
In a match reduced to 13 overs per side due to persistent rain, Pakistan won the toss and elected to field. Bangladesh stumbled early to 21/3 as openers Tanzid Hasan (7), skipper Litton Das (2), and Parvez Hossain Emon (1) fell cheaply. Saif Hassan added 19 off 17 before Towhid Hridoy mounted a swift counter-attack, scoring 42 runs off 25 balls featuring four sixes and two boundaries. Mosaddek Hossain contributed 11 and Mahedi Hasan remained unbeaten on 8, alongside 19 extras (including 15 wides), pushing Bangladesh to 111/7 in 13 overs. Sufiyan Muqeem led Pakistan's bowling attack with 3/26, supported by Arafat Minhas (2/23). Chasing 112, Pakistan stumbled early to 53/4 as Mahedi Hasan, Nasum Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, and Rishad Hossain claimed a wicket each. However, Hassan Nawaz (27* off 22) and Abdul Samad (30* off 15) forged an unbeaten 59-run fifth-wicket partnership, sealing victory for Pakistan at 112/4 in 11.3 overs to secure a spot in the gold medal final against the winner of the India vs. Sri Lanka semi-final.
