Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has announced a 15-member squad for their upcoming three-match T20I series against Pakistan, naming wicketkeeper-batter Kusal Mendis as captain.
The squad features notable exclusions due to medical setbacks, with top-order batter Pathum Nissanka and star leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga both ruled out through injury. However, medical officials indicate both could return for the subsequent tri-nation ODI series involving England if they pass fitness assessments. Experienced pace bowler Dushmantha Chameera has been included in the squad subject to final fitness clearance. Mendis leads an extended batting unit comprising Kamil Mishara, Sineth Jayawardena, Lahiru Udara, Sahan Arachchige, Kamindu Mendis, Dasun Shanaka, and Chamindu Wickramasinghe. The spin attack is anchored by Dunith Wellalage, Maheesh Theekshana, and Vijayakanth Viyaskanth, while the pace department includes Binura Fernando, Nuwan Thushara, Eshan Malinga, and Asitha Fernando.
The tour kicks off on October 9 in Rawalpindi, marking the start of a multi-format tour that includes a five-match ODI tri-series with England and two ICC World Test Championship (2025–2027) matches against Pakistan.
