Barcelona star forward Lamine Yamal has matched a rare football milestone after scoring early in Spain's 3-1 UEFA Nations League victory against the Czech Republic.
Opening the scoreline for the reigning world champions in the 6th minute, Yamal extended his remarkable streak of early international strikes. The 19-year-old had previously found the net in the 2nd minute against both England and Croatia in Spain's prior Nations League fixtures. According to football statistics outlet MisterChip, Yamal is the first player to score within the opening six minutes in three consecutive international matches since Anton Zemlianukhin accomplished the feat for Kyrgyzstan between December 2017 and March 2018. During that span, Zemlianukhin scored in the 1st minute against Brunei, the 5th minute against Myanmar, and the 2nd minute against India. Yamal's early contribution set the tone for Luis de la Fuente’s squad, which went on to seal the 3-1 win in Oviedo and remain undefeated across 41 matches in all competitions.
