Michael Olise Red Card Proves Costly as Viking FK Hold Bayern Munich to Thrilling 3-3 Draw in Champions League

A moment of indiscipline from French winger Michael Olise denied Bayern Munich victory on Tuesday night as Norwegian side Viking FK scored a 90th-minute equalizer to draw 3-3 in a dramatic UEFA Champions League group stage encounter in Stavanger.

Viking FK shocked the German giants early on, taking the lead just 72 seconds into the match when Gianni Stensness headed home from a corner. Peter Christiansen doubled the host's lead in the 38th minute, leaving Vincent Kompany's Bayern trailing 2-0 at the interval. However, Bayern rallied brilliantly in the second half. Harry Kane converted a penalty after Konrad Laimer was fouled, before heading home Joshua Kimmich's cross in the 60th minute to make it 2-2. Luis Diaz then completed the turnaround, scoring off a delicate chip from Kane to give Bayern a 3-2 lead.

The turning point occurred in the 74th minute when Michael Olise, already on a yellow card, threw the ball directly into the face of Viking captain Zlatko Tripic following a foul. The referee immediately brandished a second yellow, reducing Bayern to 10 men for the final 16 minutes. Capitalizing on the extra man, Viking launched late pressure, resulting in Herman Haugen's 90th-minute equalizer to snatch a famous 3-3 draw for the Norwegian champions.
