Bangladesh all-rounder Shuvagata Hom has etched his name in the country's cricket folklore by becoming the first Bangladeshi cricketer to score 7,000 runs and take 300 wickets in first-class cricket. Shuvagata achieved this historic milestone on Day 2 of Mymensingh Division's third-round match against Dhaka Division in the National Cricket League (NCL) at the Cox's Bazar Cricket Stadium.
Needing 70 more runs to complete the double, the right-handed batter scored 71 off 125 balls with four boundaries before being dismissed, having entered the day with 6,930 runs and 311 wickets. Shuvagata has previously represented Bangladesh across all three formats, playing 8 Tests, 4 ODIs, and 5 T20Is.
