
Bangladesh’s ready-made garment (RMG) exports to non-traditional markets experienced a robust growth of 9.40% during the first quarter (July–September) of the ongoing 2026–27 fiscal year, generating $1.81 billion in revenue compared to $1.65 billion recorded in the same period last year.
According to the latest figures released by the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), Bangladesh's total apparel export earnings reached $10.58 billion in Q1 FY27, marking a 6.10% year-on-year increase from $9.97 billion. Non-traditional markets accounted for 17.13% of total RMG exports during this timeframe. The European Union maintained its position as Bangladesh's largest destination, absorbing 46.36% of total shipments with earnings reaching $4.90 billion (up 3.33%). Exports to the United States, the second-largest market, surged 10.40% to hit $2.22 billion (20.99% market share). Meanwhile, shipments to the United Kingdom rose 5.94% to $1.29 billion, and exports to Canada grew 3.85% to $349.65 million. Product-wise data highlights that knitwear exports outperformed woven garments, recording a 6.88% growth compared to woven's 5.11% expansion.
