
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has announced a fresh price hike for domestic gold, increasing rates by up to BDT 2,216 per bhori inclusive of VAT.
In an official press release issued on Friday (October 9, 2026), BAJUS confirmed that the decision was taken during a 9:00 AM meeting of its standing committee on pricing and price monitoring, with the revised rates coming into effect at 10:00 AM the same day. Under the new pricing structure, high-quality 22-karat gold (11.664 grams) is now priced at BDT 2,31,297 per bhori, up from BDT 2,29,081. Additionally, 21-karat gold has been fixed at BDT 2,20,916 per bhori, 18-karat gold at BDT 1,89,715 per bhori, and traditional method gold at BDT 1,54,956 per bhori. Meanwhile, domestic silver prices remain unchanged, with 22-karat silver holding at BDT 4,316 per bhori.
