Following four consecutive price reductions, the
Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS)
has announced a fresh upward revision in gold prices across the domestic market.
Effective from
Wednesday, October 28, 2026
, the price of high-grade 22-karat gold has been raised by
BDT 2,216 per bhori
(11.664 grams), taking the rate to
BDT 2,23,074 per bhori
.
According to a press statement issued by BAJUS on Wednesday morning, the price adjustment was necessitated by a price recovery of refined gold (tejabi gold) in the local bullion market.
Under the latest rate structure, 21-karat gold has been re-fixed at BDT 2,13,043 per bhori (an increase of BDT 2,100), 18-karat gold at BDT 1,82,950 per bhori (an increase of BDT 1,750), and traditional method gold at BDT 1,49,474 per bhori (an increase of BDT 1,458). Meanwhile, silver prices remain steady, with 22-karat silver priced at BDT 3,849 per bhori. BAJUS reminded retail buyers that final jewelry purchases incur an additional statutory 5% government VAT alongside minimum making charges starting from BDT 3,500 per bhori.
