The Bangladesh-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCCI) and the Academy of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT Academy) held a high-level meeting on Tuesday (October 13, 2026) at the BCCCI office in Gulshan, Dhaka, to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, research, and the exhibition industry.

Led by CCPIT Academy President Zhao Ping, a two-member delegation met with BCCCI leadership, including Secretary General Jamilur Rahman. Zhao Ping praised Bangladesh’s robust economic growth, large consumer market, and demographic dividends, while welcoming BCCCI's participation in South Asian business environment research. The discussions identified energy, exhibition development, and knowledge sharing as core pillars for future partnership.

Key proposals included Chinese investments in LPG storage, battery technology, and solar power, alongside infrastructure upgrades for exhibition centers in Chattogram and specialized trade fairs for electric vehicles (EVs), solar energy, and food products.

BCCCI Executive Director Md. Abu Taher highlighted the decade-long relationship between the two organizations, urging CCPIT to facilitate greater participation of Bangladeshi business representatives in major Chinese trade expos and specialized training programs. The meeting was also attended by BCCCI Vice Presidents Khandakar Atiqur Rahman and Masud Ali Khan, Advisor Md. Faizul Alam, and Director Dr. Md. Rakibul Haque, who expressed optimism that joint research, technology transfer, and industrial collaboration will further solidify bilateral economic ties.
