The Homna police station has arrested 18 individuals during a special drive launched to prevent criminal activities by adolescent gangs in Homna, Cumilla. The operation was conducted across various areas of the upazila on Wednesday (September 23). Police have announced that such operations to curb juvenile delinquency will continue regularly. According to police sources, under the directives of Cumilla District Superintendent of Police Md. Anisuzzaman, PPM, the Homna police carried out a special anti-teen gang drive at several vital locations in the upazila on Wednesday,

detaining a total of 18 people. Police have expressed concern over the recent tendency of growing teenagers to get involved in various criminal activities. This drive was specifically aimed at preventing adolescents from engaging in crimes and maintaining peace and order in the area. Homna Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Thomas Barua stated that police surveillance and operations will continue so that teen gang members cannot get involved in any criminal activities. He further noted that police operations alone are not enough; families, educational institutions, and conscious citizens of society must also play a vital role in steering adolescents away from the path of crime. He sought the cooperation of guardians and people from all walks of life in this regard.
